Dear Colleague:
As fellow gerontologists in the practice and research of longevity
medicine, we invite you to join the International Society for Applied
Research in Aging (SARA). The Society is unique in its international
professional affiliations making it the world's largest organization of
anti-aging practitioners. As the result of its world wide affiliations,
SARA boasts a membership of over 3000 that is currently in log-growth phase.
Our members are all anti-aging practitioners, primarily in practice and in
clinical gerontological research/academic medicine. We would like to include
you among us. The following are just a few of the benefits of membership:
· The SARA peer-reviewed journal, Clinical Interventions in Aging
(CIA), provides contemporary, evidence-based, state of the art clinical
material and reviews. The on-line version of CIA is free as part of your
membership. While CIA is published quarterly, a SARA monthly newsletter in
now in planning so as to provide its members with breaking information on
novel interventions in aging. Thus, the intent of Breaking News is to
provide timely reports that are filled with useful clinical information and
which be integrated into our daily practice.
· The Annual Meetings and Clinical Symposia, which offer CME
Category I credits, have been outstanding and very well attended,
emphasizing both clinical topics and socioeconomic issues. SARA members
receive significant reduction in tuition.
· SARA will seek to develop an active voice in Congress through
traditional and continuous lobbying activities and grassroots efforts.
· Practice guidelines for management of age-related changes in
bodily form and function that precede development of intrinsic disease will
be published to serve as benchmarks for those providing services in
longevity medicine.
· A longer term goal of SARA is to establish a College of
Antiaging Medicine (CAM) that will grant fellowship status to those SARA
members who qualify.
· SARA's Website on the Internet (www.internationalaging.org) is
readily available for up-to-date clinical information and discussions.
· Complimentary membership for Fellows-in-Training. SARA strongly
believes that Fellows-in-Training are a critical component of our
organization, which is why we have made it easy by offering complimentary
membership to all qualified individuals.
In closing, please remember that we need your support to meet the
challenges for both clinicians and patients seeking access to health
maintenance during aging. We represent the legitimate and ethical voice of
anti-aging practitioners. Add yours to those of your colleagues in
practice.
Sincerely,
